New York, NY- June 7, 2001: Orange County hard-rock act Corporate Avenger are finally starting to feel the repercussions of their lyrics as death-threats to the band have gone from occasional to concerning. The band has always expected their music to stir up some controversy. Song titles such as "The Bible Is Bullshit," "Jesus Christ Homosexual" and "Drug Dealing God" are bound to rub some people the wrong way and the band has been receiving nasty letters for years. But now the hate-mail has morphed into something more vicious and the painted-faced rockers are receiving anywhere from 10-20 death-threats a week. "The reactions thus far and the threats are shocking and unexpected," says Bob Frank, President of KOCH Entertainment. "People attack what they don't understand and the message of Corporate Avenger is causing certain parties to question their lifelong held belief systems." Letters to their management offices and record label, as well as graphic voice messages, have become a standard in Corporate Avenger's daily schedule and security has been stepped-up for the band's recent tour where they are promoting the release of Freedom Is A State Of Mind, out July 24th on KOCH Records. Band members The Wind, The Corporate Avenger, Pakelika, aka the Taxman and DJ Hall of Records were not available for comment. Keep an eye out for Corporate Avenger, who are wrapping up their current tour with The Kottonmouth Kings on Friday, June 8th at the House of Blues in Los Angeles. After two weeks off they will be heading back out on the road for the duration of the summer.
