Tyrannosaurus Hives, the official sophomore release from the Hives drops July 20th, and according to singer Howlin’ Pelle Almqvist, “You haven’t heard our new album, but you already love it.” Never one to speak humbly about the band he fronts, the band’s first state-side release was a compilation titled Your New Favourite Band, Almqvist explained the title of the album in a recent interview, "Our last album, Veni Vidi Vicious—which was, you know, Caesar's victory cry—was designed to be the record we conquered the world with. I think it worked out quite well, don't you? We called our new album Tyrannosaurus Hives because we are so huge."
Say what you will about the Hives, but their bombast is as contagious as their hooks. The new albums’ first single, “Walk Idiot Walk,” is the catchiest thing you’ve heard all year and their live show will make you dance whether you want to or not.
