Vaeda is an emerging NY Rock band with a purpose

Vaeda is a four-piece rock band from New York with a mission to spread their knowledge of the truth by creating timeless music. The band's powerful, uncompromising sound is a whirlwind of emotion, evoking the same reactions of all who hear it; feelings of exhilaration, aggression, and astonishment, as well as feelings of power, passion, and visions of a better world. Their songs blend diversity and accessibility, featuring heavy grooves with ambient guitar textures and potent lyrics that touch on everything from political and social unrest to personal struggle and the human condition.

Vaeda formed in early 2003, fresh out of universities the likes of Princeton, Hofstra, Stanford, and the University of Pennsylvania. The band quickly emerged from the industrial wastelands of Brooklyn with songs inspired by the world around them and the transgressions of daily New York City life. After several fortunate chains of events, the band's music caught the ear of producer Kyle Kelso (Tony C and the Truth, Lava/Atlantic) and they immediately began a working relationship. As of the middle of 2004, the band has almost completed their debut album and has played over 60 shows in a matter of months. Just recently, Vaeda was chosen to be a part of the AMP Energy Drink 6-Pack National College Radio campaign, which will provide exposure for the band to more than 300 college radio stations. The band will also be featured on the Spike TV show "Dangerous Curves" in September, with more television and film placements pending. Vaeda recently performed a highly successful outing at the Six Flags Rock and Ride Festival in Louisville, KY, playing in front of thousands at the largest unsigned band festival in the nation. They also begin a national radio campaign with McGathy Promotions (Nirvana, System of a Down, Chevelle, Nickelback) this summer and fall.

Vaeda is emerging as one of the premiere bands of the New York rock scene. Due to their educated backgrounds, they aspire to do more than just create mosh pits; they actively seek out worthy causes with whom to form alliances, such as War Child (www.warchildusa.org), an international group that provides relief to children who are victims of war. Given the chance, Vaeda will inspire a new generation of music fans who search for truth and knowledge in their own lives and the world around them. With the help of management from Idol Roc Entertainment, Samantha Cox from BMI, and legal representation from Howard Sadowsky of The Law Offices of Howard Sadowsky, Vaeda is poised to lead music into a new era, one in which knowledge is the key and where every person has the potential to make a difference.
